Recycling crashed when China stopped accepting waste shipments from the US. Cities, which often manage consumer recycling, were left holding the bag.

This infographic detailing the market change appeared at the beginning of a Municipal Action Guide designed to help city leaders deal with the crisis.

The chart here was inspired by the idea of slicing through a recycling truck to show the content inside. What I have here is just an organized version of what’s in that truck, reflecting and perfecting reality!
