Plan Your Vote
March 15, 2022
It was an honor to work on the redesign of one of our team’s biggest initiatives for the year.
The focus was on making each bit of voter logistics seamless and unambiguous. Instead of using checks and x’s, which can be hard to maintain for researchers and, we found, somewhat ambiguous for readers, we used a conversational writing style. We thought this might echo the step-by-step conversation one has in one’s head while trying to figure out complex rules.
The result is a simple page that thoughtfully provides critical information.
The project was promoted widely on the site, on television, and outdoor advertising. Some of the promotion was in-house.
I crafted this background on short notice for automated graphics my colleague put together with Puppeteer. The site design is fairly sparse. This background leverages the type and color of the original to create something new but related, inviting users to return to a site they trust.
